Is it a good book??

P.

steranko? thats my name i wonder if we are related is he czech?

I have the book and it pretty much does as the title suggests - it breaks down the art of telling a story visually. To sum it up, the book talks about elements of a good story, storyboarding, setting up characters, camera angles, lighting and color, timing and pace, and offers a "tricks of the trade" section. All the information presented is meant to be applied to animation, comics, video games, and live-action films.

Work by Steranko is also featured in the book, and he offers insights about his own approach to visual storytelling. Other artists featured in the book are Jeff Smith, Wally Wood, Andrew Loomis, and Neal Adams.

I think the book is worth getting. I got mine from www.budplant.com. They offer both a regular edition and a deluxe edition that's signed by Steranko himself.
