The internationally renowned event has gone from strength to strength since its modest start in 2004 and this year has secured amazing exclusives from more than 2,200 submissions from over 40 countries.
Learn how to design powerful and dynamic film imagery that connects with its intended audiences, utilizing techniques painstakingly developed by cinematic masters. This two-day on-line Master Class is an expert analysis of visual planning and directing through the process of storyboarding. It is designed for professionals and students in the areas of film and animation directing, storyboarding, pre-visualization and editing. It offers a practical set of techniques that can strengthen each filmmaker’s storytelling ability.
The lecturer, David Russell, is an authority on the subject of visual storytelling. In close collaboration with celebrated directors including George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Tim Burton and Peter Weir, he has created key sequences for over 100 film and television productions, including Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, The Color Purple, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Thin Red Line, Moulin Rouge, Master and Commander, and the upcoming Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

5D|09 The Immersive Design Conference will take place October 1-3, 2009 on the campus of California State University, Long Beach, co-produced by the Art Directors Guild and the University Art Museum.
Last year’s event, which united 1,000 diversified entertainment industry professionals and students, explored the latest ideas in the practice of immersive design from such speakers as Henry Jenkins (MIT), Gore Verbinski (director), Paola Antonelli (MOMA), Mike Benson (ABC Ent.) and Sebastian Sylwan (Autodesk), among others.
Celeste Prize is a unique international contemporary arts competition in which artists decide who wins the 40,000 Euro (US$50,000) award money. The 46 finalists are chosen by a panel of international art critics: Mark Gisbourne, Adrienne Goehler, Victoria Lu, Claudio Sinatti and a panel of consultants with experience in audiovisual performance. These 46 finalists themselves choose the ultimate winners in each category. Exhibition and awards ceremony to be held in Berlin, Germany, September 2009.

Fresh from its global travels pioneering festival onedotzero_adventures in motion returns to London's BFI Southbank to present international moving image work from beyond the frontiers of innovation to inspire, provoke and entertain. Now in its 13th year, this year's festival presents a dynamic compilation of leading edge cinematic expressions in the form of short films, promos, interactive experiences and feature films.
The festival is conceived and organised by the cultural association A.I.A.F. (Asolo International Art Festival).
Starting with the 28th edition A.I.A.F will work together with the Gallery San Fedele in Milano.
The contest is divided into six sections:
