The 2003 Icograda World Congress

The 2003 Icograda World Congress brings together more than 1,400 designers and students from more than 40 countries to discuss identity, entertainment, sustainability intellectual property and education in the design industry. The conference will contain exhibitions, social events and visits to Japanese companies. For students, the conference will include an International Student Poster Competition and an International New Designers Workshop. Challenging the traditional conference presentation, the event will include unique ways of conducting its discussions, which is being called Visualogue.

ASIFA-Hollywood to Screen Stop-Motion Animation

ASIFA-Hollywood will examine the history of stop-motion animation at the American Film Institute in the Ted Ashley Screening Room on Saturday, August 23, 2003 at 3 pm. From Jasper to Gumby, some obscure examples will include works from animators George Pal, Frank Tashlin, Charles Bowers, Lou Bunin, Ray Harryhausen, Art Clokey, John Burton and many others.
