Omaha Film Festival 2009
The Omaha Film Festival is now accepting entries in the following categories: Narrative Feature, Documentary Feature, Short Film, Animated Short Film, OFF the EDGE Feature Film (Horror, Experimental, Dark Films longer than 25 minutes) and Nebraska Short Film.
Screenplays will be accepted in Feature Length (30-140 pages) and Short Length (Under 30 pages).
Makeup Nominees to Add Glamour to Oscar Week Event
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present the Makeup Artist and Hairstylist Symposium, a program spotlighting the work of the 2008 Academy Award nominees in the Makeup category, on Saturday, February 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
The program, moderated by Academy governor Leonard Engelman, will feature a discussion of the nominees' creative process as well as present film clips, photographs and models of their work.

AMC Presents a Single-Day Showing of All Five Best Picture Nominated Films
On Saturday, Feb. 21, the AMC Best Picture Showcase will take place at 99 AMC theatres in 42 North American markets (check local listings for availability and show times). Guests can purchase an exclusive AMC Best Picture Showcase All-Day Pass for $30, or $25 for AMC MovieWatcher members. Toy Fair is the largest international toy trade show in the Western Hemisphere where the newest and hottest products in the children's entertainment marketplace are exhibited. It is the premier meeting place for manufacturers, retailers, importers, licensors and reps from around the world.
Toy Fair 2009 will take place February 15-18, 2009 (Sunday-Wednesday) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and showroom locations in the Toy District.
Watchmen Exhibition at Cartoon Art Museum
The Cartoon Art Museum presents an in-depth look at one of the most anticipated films of 2009 and the graphic novel that inspired it in its latest exhibition, WATCHMEN. The exhibition features dozens of concept illustrations, preparatory sketches and original comic book pages illustrated by Dave Gibbons, the co-creator and illustrator of the critically-acclaimed WATCHMEN graphic novel.
American Society of Cinematographers Open House
The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) will host their annual open house here on Saturday, February 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mole Richardson (925 North La Brea Avenue, Hollywood). The open house is held in conjunction with the ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards celebration on February 15, at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel.
Evening of Dance-Based Animation at Kinetic Cinema
On February 11, 2009 at 7 p.m., the Kinetic Cinema screening at Chez Bushwick will feature a wide-variety of dance and movement animation videos. Curated by Doug Fox, blogger and founder of Great Dance, the program will show how directors, artists, choreographers and dancers have used different animation styles and techniques to capture, illustrate and transform human movement.

24: Redemption Photography Exhibit Moves to Paley Center in New York
On the heels of a run at The Paley Center for Media in Los Angeles, the "24: REDEMPTION -- Captured in Africa" exhibit is traveling to the Paley Center in New York for a two-month stay. The exhibit is composed of a stunning collection of photographs shot by five members of the Emmy Award-winning FOX drama's creative team during the filming of 24: REDEMPTION last year.

Fourteen Hours of Harry Potter Times Three in NYC This Christmas
Clearview Cinemas will feature a six-day exclusive engagement featuring all five HARRY POTTER films at the legendary Ziegfeld Theatre in New York, from December 19 to 24.
During the event's opening weekend, the HARRY POTTER films will be shown in chronological order, starting at 10 a.m. each day with HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE and concluding with HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX finishing around 12:30 a.m.
