Bob Clampett visited Toronto in 1979 for a three day event, ANIMAFEASTIVAL, sponsored by Reg Hartt. The talks he gave have been transcribed and published. The International Paris/Berlin festival is a transdisciplinary action, favoring contemporary creation in different fields: film, video, visual arts and multimedia, to create a meeting space for exchanges between various forms of artistic language and their audiences. By bringing together the diverse mediums of creation and their respective audiences and allowing them to communicate, the Rencontres becomes an open event in which the specificities and links between languages and gazes can emerge within evolving contemporary production.
7th Siena International Short Film Festival
Begins: November 22, 2002
The 7th Siene International Short Film festival is calling for entries. There will be two International Competitions open to all genres: animation, documentary, fiction, experimental. One will be dedicated to films shot in 16 or 35mm with optical sound. The other, to films with digital recording systems (DV, Mini DV, DV CAM, Beta Digital, DVC Pro, HD 24P, and all shooting formats in native digital). Therefore Flash, 3D and work generated exclusively on computer hard disk will not be eligible.
E-magicians - The European Gathering of Young Digital Creation
Begins: November 20, 2002
The European Gathering of Young Digital Creation announces its call for entries for student video and multimedia works, as well as registration for Chained Animation, a collective work done on site at the festival. Students have to produce 10 seconds of computer animation from an original imposed image, then all sequences will be edited end-to-end to form a series of animations that will be screened during the closing event.
The Big Issue International Film Festival 2002 (Australia)

The Communicator Awards

The Communicator Awards is an international competition for Video/Film & Multi-media founded by communications professionals to recognize excellence in the communications field. Entries will be judged against a high standard of excellence rather than each other. Excellence, Distinction and Honorable Mention winners receive a foiled and printed certificate. Excellence and Distinction winners are eligible to order the Prestigious crystal jade glass award. The Communicator Awards has over 200 categories. Entry fees are $40 per entry.

IFP/Chicago Flyover Zone Festival

Call for Entries for the IFP/CHICAGO Flyover Zone Short Film Festival. Flyover Zone: Name given to that area of the United States between New York and Los Angeles often viewed by industry executives from 35,000 feet above the earth. Chosen films will be screened at the 11th Annual IFP/Chicago Independent Filmmaker's Conference which will take place from November 8-9, 2002 in Chicago, Illinois. Eligible films must be 30 minutes or less in the categories of Student Films, Comedy Shorts, Dramatic, Non-Fiction, and Experimental Shorts.

The Second Edition of the Animation and FX Congress
