Anime Expo is the largest convention devoted to Japanese animation and manga (comics) in the United States. Hosted by the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), Anime Expo is the gathering place of thousands of fans and professionals in the anime and manga industry.

The Niagara Indie Filmfest is an annual, juried,competitive short film and video festival held eachyear in June. Open to Canadian residents. Entriesmust be no longer than 30 minutes (including credits)and can originate on film or video. Categories includeAnimation, Comedy, Drama/Narrative, Experimental andDocumentary. Banff 2003, the 24th Banff Television Festival, takes place June 8-13, 2003 at the Fairmont Banff Springs in the Canadian Rockies. It is expected to draw over 1,800 producers, broadcasters, commissioning editors, content creators and other industry stakeholders from around the world who will take part in an array of plenary sessions, seminars, Master Classes, pitching and networking opportunities.

The Santa Cruz Film Festival provides film + video artists a venue to expose their art to the public. As the digital revolution enables a growing segment of the population a revolutionary tool for self-expression, SCFF will honor the accessible to the avant garde in moving pictures. Santa Cruz and the greater Monterey Bay Area hosts a large community of artists and fans alike, who are hungry for an event of this magnitude. See the exciting work of talented students from all of the school's majors: Advertising, Architecture (MFA Only), Computer Arts, Fashion, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Industrial Design, Interior Artchitecture & Design, Motion Pictures & Television and Photography. Following the success of the AEAF Awards in Sydney last December, organizers of the Australian Effects & Animation Festival (AEAF) have introduced a Short Film Festival to the Melbourne event (May 12-13) at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Federation Square, Melbourne. The shorts festival will showcase some of the best digital and animated material submitted to the AEAF Awards 2002, as well as some new material that has been submitted solely for the purpose of screening in Melbourne.

The 3D Awards is an industry-wide set of awards recognizing excellence in the field of 3D design, animation and digital visual effects. Presented by the 3D Awards Committee, it is unique because it covers all aspects of 3D creativity
