Totoro Forest Project Reception

The Cartoon Art Museum will present original works of art from The Totoro Forest Project Charity Auction, a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition featuring paintings, illustrations and sculptures from nearly 200 critically acclaimed animators, fine artists, cartoonists and illustrators. All of the artwork featured in the exhibition was inspired by Hayao Miyazaki's iconic animated feature film MY NEIGHBOR TORORO.

Warner Bros. Cartoon Program

During its peak period in the 1930s, '40s, '50s, and '60s. Warner Bros. was home to the funniest and most inventive cartoons ever made. Disney had class and family appeal, but Warners had mavericks like Chuck Jones, Tex Avery and Frank Tashlin letting their imaginations run wild. These maestros created Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, among dozens of other unforgettable characters. This free program stars these and other audience favorites, and includes beloved classics like WHAT'S OPERA DOC? and ONE FROGGY EVENING.

TheBigPix is inviting animators to take part in a creative online project at www.thebigpix.co.uk. Pick your favorite piece of art or architecture and tell them why it means so much. Make a film or animation and load it on www.thebigpix.co.uk. Many, including sculptor Antony Gormley, filmmaker Lord Puttnam, comedian Vic Reeves and indie band Maximo Park have already contributed to this project. Winning works will be shown at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in the U.K. starting December 1, as well as online.
