Screening of Golden Globe Nominee Waltz with Bashir

WALTZ WITH BASHIR is one of five films nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Foreign Film category. All five of the Best Foreign-Language Film nominated films will screen in their entirety at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica and all five directors will appear in person for a free Golden Globe Foreign-Language Nominees Seminar at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood on January 10 at 1 p.m. WALTZ screens in a double-feature on January 8 with fellow nominee EVERLASTING MOMENTS. Other nominees are: THE BAADER-MEINHOF COMPLEX, GOMORRAH and I'VE LOVED YOU SO LONG.

Annual Kodak Animation Screening

The screening is free and is taking place on Tuesday, January 6 at Kodak. At6 p.m. there are refreshments served and an opportunity to refine your schmoozing skills, and at 7 p.m. sharp there is going to be a screening of brand new animated films (see the list of films and filmmakers below).

The Kodak Screening Room is at 360 West 31st Street between 8th and 9th Avenues, please take 9th Ave. elevators to 2nd floor.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center will host director David Fincher on stage for the culminating event of its Walter Reade Theater film series, Under the Sign of Fincher, Jan. 1-4, 2009. The showcase highlights four of Fincher's key works: SE7EN, FIGHT CLUB, the rarely screened director's cut of ZODIAC and his much-anticipated 2008 release THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON, from Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros., starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Screening

American Cinemathque is hosting a screening of TIM BURTON'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.

Years after beginning as an animator at Disney, Tim Burton returned to the studio to oversee this bizarre but utterly charming family film, all told via the magical form of stop-motion animation. Jack Skellington, the "Pumpkin King" of Halloween Town, falls in love with Christmas and tries to merge the incompatible sensibilities of the two holidays-an endeavor that is aided by some terrific songs by composer Danny Elfman.

Fourteen Hours of Harry Potter Times Three in NYC This Christmas

Begins: December 19, 2008

Clearview Cinemas will feature a six-day exclusive engagement featuring all five HARRY POTTER films at the legendary Ziegfeld Theatre in New York, from December 19 to 24.

During the event's opening weekend, the HARRY POTTER films will be shown in chronological order, starting at 10 a.m. each day with HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE and concluding with HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX finishing around 12:30 a.m.

Peter Sis Event at Facets Cinematheque
