Movies and Science on Collision Course at the Academy

Fest Anca 2009

The second edition of the International Fest Anca Animation Festival, established by the ANCA civic association, will be held on July 31-August 2, 2009 at the Stanica Zilina-Zariecie cultural centre in Zilina, Slovakia.

An international five-member jury -- renowned professionals in the animation field -- will grant three Anca awards to the best animations consisting of a trophy and cash prize. All awards will be announced at closing ceremony of festival on August 2, 2009. The decision of the juries are final.

Animation Club presents Secret Handshake -- Cupcakes Edition

ANIMATION CLUB!!! presents 'Secret Handshake', a monthly animation night at Loop Bar in Melbourne. Each month, animators from all around the world create a short animation upon a given topic which is then screened and voted upon by the audience. The winner receives fame and glory... and gets to choose the next month's topic.

All animation styles are welcome - from hand-drawn, flash, claymation, stop motion, pixellation -- or any combination of these. However -- it must be animated! No live action allowed!

Neum Animated Film Festival 2009

The Neum Animated Film Festival will take place from June 29-July 5 in Neum. The festival has two parts: a "working" festival where children can learn animation techniques, and the competition section of the festival where cartoons from all over the world are presented.
