CASTLE IN THE SKY

Oscar winning director Hayao Miyazaki's classic CASTLE IN THE SKY is having its only American theatrical presentation at the Newport Beach Film Festival on Saturday, April 6 at 8:30 pm at the Regency Lido Theatre, located at 3459 Via Lido, Newport Beach, California. Theatre box office: (949) 673-8350.

This special 35mm screening features an expanded score by composer Joe Hisaishi and the voice talents of James van der Beek, Andy Dick, Mark Hamill, Cloris Leachman, Anna Paquin and Mandy Patinkin.

Following the event is a reception at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Taiwan International Animation Festival

Taiwan International Animation Festival (TIAF) is the first festival of its kind in Taiwan. TIAF is a non-competitive festival open to all animated films and makes no distinction between formats, running time or technique. No entry fee is required.

TIAF is organized by Chinese Taipei Film Archive, a non-profit association that is sponsored by the Government Information Office in Taiwan. The Archive is committed to collecting, restoring and preserving Taiwan's motion picture heritage and assists the development of the film industry in Taiwan.

THE BIG SNOOZE was Bob Clampett's last Bugs Bunny film. His name was left off the credits as he had left the studio. Today this film has been censored for television and home video. This is your chance to see it as Clampett made it.

Bob Clampett visited Toronto in 1979 for a three day event, ANIMAFEASTIVAL, sponsored by Reg Hartt. The talks he gave have been transcribed and published. A copy is available from The Cineforum for $25 plus $10 shipping and handling from The Cineforum. It is the perfect gift for every animation artist.
