Australian International Animation Festival 2012

Now in our 9th year, CSU Animation and Visual Effects are proud to present the Australian International Animation Festival 2012. The internationally renowned event has gone from strength to strength since its modest start and this year has secured amazing exclusives from more than 2,000 submissions from all around the world. The range of styles, genres and techniques is testament to the vibrancy and relevance of creative animation and the premiere screening of this highly acclaimed collection is happening right here in Wagga Wagga!

The Toronto Urban Film Festival (TUFF) returns for a sixth year to digital platform screens across the Toronto subway system, September 7 - 17, 2012, concurrent with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Kristiansand Int'l Children's Film Festival 2012

Begins: April 24, 2012

We are now accepting entries for our 15th edition, which will run from 24 - 28 April 2012. KICFF is looking for high quality shorts, long shorts, features and documentaries to be screened in our main section and numerous side bars of Norway's largest festival for films for children and youth. Festival of DRAWN Animation

Begins: August 14, 2011
Selection of Drawn Animation curated by Bill Plympton and Patrick Smith, IN PERSON FOR Q&A AND BOOK SIGNING. Drinks start at 7pm, screening at 8:30pm. Includes recent work by animators Ryan Woodward, Bill Plympton, Patrick Smith, David Chai, Colleen Cox, Rebecca Sugar and more!

Wassaic Project Animation Program

Begins: August 6, 2011

ANIMATIONGuest Curator: Joshua Frankel

The films in this program explore the concept of collage in motion-pictures through juxtapositions, both stark and subtle, of media, aesthetic and authorship.

The media incorporated into the films in the program include handmade marks, handmade objects, found objects, photographs, stylized computer generated imagery and live action footage. The act of collage reminds the viewer that motion-picture is an object crafted by an artist or team of artists. These films feature the fingerprints of their creators prominently.

In honour of the Toronto Animated Image Society (TAIS) mascot and this year’s Chinese zodiac sign, we are proud to announce that this year’s theme for the TAIS AniJam, ten second animations that will screen in rapid succession at the TAIS Showcase in June, is ... BUNNIES! (Rabbits, hares, Thumper and Bugs, bucks, does, energizers, playboys, and any other idea you may have related to voracious procreators and twitchy noses.)

Cartoon Movie 2011

Created in 1999, Cartoon Movie is neither a fair nor a festival, but rather a co-production forum for European animated feature films. For two intense days, European producers have the opportunity to present their animation projects to all potential buyers in order to negotiate financing, to find partners and to interest distributors. All of this is happening in a very relaxed and convivial atmosphere… the human touch is the soul of Cartoon Movie!

TMODE

Begins: April 16, 2010

ALEXANDRIA, VA. (March 12, 2010) – With just over a month to go, T-MODE 2010 is gearing up for a party like no other. The popular local anime and gaming convention makes its triumphant return April 16-18, 2010, and will be held this year at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town, just steps from the King Street Metro.

T-MODE offers a chance to get up close and personal with some of your favorite guests, including voice actors Wendee Lee (“Cowboy Bebop,” “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”... enough shows that we could be here all day!), Todd Haberkorn ("D.Gray-Man," "Claymore") and Cristina Vee ("Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha," "Anime TV"); author Roland Kelts ("Japanamerica"); musician Random ("Mega Ran") and webcomic artists Jessi and Matt Pascal ("Geeks Next Door") – with more surprises in store as the convention draws closer.
