Cascade ACM SIGGRAPH, Oregon and Southwest Washington's local SIGGRAPH chapter, today announced the "From Toys to Technology - Stereoscopic Display" event, scheduled to take place Monday, May 18, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the Portland Community College (PCC) Cascade Campus. Highlighting Oregon-engineered stereoscopic display systems, the evening will discuss stereoscopic terms and concepts, and will offer an inside look at Oregon's very own youth phenomenon, the View-Master.

Design Festa Vol. 29

Design Festa is a biannual international art event, started in 1994. It is open to all artists from all over the world to exhibit their creative talent freely. 7,000 artists working in a variety of mediums will be present, turning the two day event into artistic chaos. There will be booth areas(2,600 booths), an outdoor live-show stage, an indoor stage, a mini-theater space and a restaurant and cafe/bar area, all for your enjoyment during these two days filled with art, energy, excitement and discovery.

Presenters will examine the important factors in creating a working CG pipeline for animation, visual effects and commercials. Discussion will include challenges, how to avoid pitfalls, and create or improve a digital pipeline.
