3D Entertainment Summit 2009

The second annual 3D Entertainment Summit will be September 16-17, 2009 at the Universal City Hilton in Universal City, California.

The 2009 3D Entertainment Summit will accommodate more attendees as it moves to a larger space designated for keynotes and panel discussions, film presentations and larger exhibitor area. In addition, the two-day summit will include a state-of-the-art 3-D digital cinema system for special 3-D studio sneak previews and full feature presentations.

The Woodstock Museum is hosting its 10th film/video festival with the theme of "Change." The festival screens completed features, documentaries, shorts and works in progress. The London International Animation Festival is Britain's premier showcase for independent animation screening annually, at the beginning of September, showcasing one of the largest collections of auteur independent animation gathered at any festival in the world.

Academy to Celebrate Animator Adam Beckett

Influential animator and visual effects artist Adam Beckett will be celebrated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with a special program entitled "Infinite Animation: The Work of Adam Beckett," on Monday, August 17, at 8 p.m. at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood. The evening will include a screening of "Life in the Atom," a short film that Beckett left unfinished when he died at the age of 29.
