Created in 1999, Cartoon Movie is neither a fair nor a festival, but rather a co-production forum for European animated feature films. For two intense days, European producers have the opportunity to present their animation projects to all potential buyers in order to negotiate financing, to find partners and to interest distributors. All of this is happening in a very relaxed and convivial atmosphere… the human touch is the soul of Cartoon Movie!

Perhaps the greatest accomplishment of the animated film My Dog Tulip is that people who don’t consider themselves dog people are irresistibly drawn to it. In this way, audiences resemble J.R. Ackerley, upon whose best selling memoir the film is based. Ackerley, a former BBC correspondent, adopted the titular “Alsatian bitch” on a lark, and in the most improbable way ended up finding the love of his life.
Learn how to design powerful and dynamic film imagery that connects with its intended audiences, utilizing techniques painstakingly developed by cinematic masters. This two-day on-line Master Class is an expert analysis of visual planning and directing through the process of storyboarding. It is designed for professionals and students in the areas of film and animation directing, storyboarding, pre-visualization and editing. It offers a practical set of techniques that can strengthen each filmmaker’s storytelling ability.
The lecturer, David Russell, is an authority on the subject of visual storytelling. In close collaboration with celebrated directors including George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Tim Burton and Peter Weir, he has created key sequences for over 100 film and television productions, including Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, The Color Purple, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Thin Red Line, Moulin Rouge, Master and Commander, and the upcoming Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
The Oklahoma Electronic Game Expo and Multimedia Conference (OEGE) is a one day conference that seeks to bring together students, educators, professionals and enthusiasts in all areas of Computer-Aided Technology and highlight Oklahoma as a creative outlet for these industries.
Computer-Aided Technology encompasses all creative industries that use computers for the development of their designs, such as video game, multimedia, graphic design, web design, CAD, GIS, video editing, animation, and digital art.
The Academy’s 2nd annual Animated Feature Symposium celebrates the work of the 2009 Oscar nominees in the Animated Feature Film category. In an evening of film clips and discussion, the nominees will discuss their creative inspiration and techniques as well as their film’s remarkable road to the big screen (panelists subject to availability).

The first annual KidzFlix Children’s International Film Festival is making its debut in May 2010. KidzFlix is currently seeking entries for this new and exciting film festival. Submissions must be suitable for children’s ages 6-18. Categories for film and video submissions are: features, shorts, live-action, animation, documentaries and child-produced (6-14) productions. Reed Exhibitions has announced the launch of Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), which will take place April 16-18, 2010 at McCormick Place in downtown Chicago.
Cartoons on the Bay and the Pulcinella Awards will take place in Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino from April 15-18, 2010. New aspects of the festival include a new cross-media and interactive animation categories and a free branded new business area to strengthen meetings among all the delegates.
PLASTIC PAPER is an international festival of animated, illustrated and puppet film that takes place May 5-8, 2010 at the Park Theatre in Winnipeg, Canada. The festival is one component of the year-round organizational activities of the Big Smash! Film Collective.
All filmmakers, anywhere, are invited to submit your short or feature film -- drama, comedy, documentary, animation or experimental work. It must have been completed since January 1, 2008. The Oscars reward the previous year’s greatest cinema achievements as determined by some of the world’s most accomplished motion picture artists and professionals. The Academy’s roughly 6,000 members vote for the Oscars using secret ballots, which are tabulated by the international auditing firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers. The auditors maintain absolute secrecy until the moment the show’s presenters open the envelopes and reveal the winners on live television.
The Annie Awards will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2010, at UCLA's Royce Hall, in Los Angeles, California. General Admission tickets are $25. Award Ceremony starts at 7:00 p.m.

On a parallel, the Mifa will be held from Wednesday 9 to Friday 11 June 2010.
As for the Creative Focus and the conferences, they will be held from Tuesday 8 to Friday 11 June 2010.
