Watchmen Exhibition at Cartoon Art Museum

The Cartoon Art Museum presents an in-depth look at one of the most anticipated films of 2009 and the graphic novel that inspired it in its latest exhibition, WATCHMEN. The exhibition features dozens of concept illustrations, preparatory sketches and original comic book pages illustrated by Dave Gibbons, the co-creator and illustrator of the critically-acclaimed WATCHMEN graphic novel.

Meet the Oscars, Chicago

For the first time, Oscar fans in Chicago will be able to hold an actual Oscar statuette and have their photo taken at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' "Meet the Oscars, Chicago." The exhibition will open Friday, February 13, at The Shops at North Bridge on Michigan Avenue, and run through Sunday, February 22, the night of the 81st Academy Awards presentation. Hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free. Chicago is the only city to host a "Meet the Oscars" exhibition this year.

Los Campeones de la Lucha Libre to Screen at Egyptian

A feature-length animated action-comedy from FWAK! Animation, the creators of "MUCHA LUCHA!" will screen at the Egyptian Theater. Masked mayhem ensues when a team of wrestling heroes is caught in the middle of a struggle between a gang of barbarians right out of MAD MAX and a legion of monsters inspired by the golden age of Mexican horror films. A Spanish-language version of this film just ran in theaters throughout Mexico, but American Cinematheque will present the first public screening in Los Angeles of an English-language 35mm print.

Fourteen Hours of Harry Potter Times Three in NYC This Christmas

Clearview Cinemas will feature a six-day exclusive engagement featuring all five HARRY POTTER films at the legendary Ziegfeld Theatre in New York, from December 19 to 24.
