The fourth annual DIY Convention: Do It Yourself in Film, Music & Books teaches musicians, authors, filmmakers and entrepreneurs how to create, promote, protect and distribute independent film, music and books. Chicago Museum of Science and Industry Oscars Display

Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago will have the 2004 Oscars on display prior to the awards ceremony on Feb. 29, 2004. This is the first time in Academy history that all of the Oscars will be on display prior to Oscar Night. In partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and Oscar manufacturer R.S. Owens, the exhibit showcases the 50 world-famous statuettes, the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award and the Scientific and Engineering Award. Additionally, the "From Mold to Gold" exhibit will demonstrate the science and technology R.S.

As the longest-running festival of its kind in the United States, the Expo has a rich history of showcasing the work of independent filmmakers from all across the globe. Animadrid 2003

The 4th edition of Animadrid was organized with the purpose of fostering the film and audiovisual arts by promoting independent animation productions and providing an assembly point for artists and audiences in the international community. This year's event will pay tribute to legendary stop-motion master Ray Harryhausen. Animadrid has two competitive sections: a short films selection and the Iberoamerican Competition for television TV series pilot. In the short film category, independent films less than 60 minutes in length and created using any animation technique are eligible for entry.
