The 8th International Surrealist Film Festival

The International Surrealist Film Festival (ISFF), is searching for surreality in all genres of film making. Unlike most festivals, its panel of judges will send a personal written critique to all entrants, regardless as to whether or not they are accepted into the festival. The festival will showcase feature length and short films in all formats and any length. The grand prize is a 16mm Bolex movie camera. Categories and prizes will be decided by the judges after all films are viewed. Past years categories ranged from most abrasive to very delicious. Please submit preview on VHS or DVD.

42nd Ann Arbor Film Festival

The Ann Arbor Film Festival is a non-profit arts organization that has along-standing tradition of showcasing all genres of independent experimental film. Its mission is to provide a worldwide public forum for independent and experimental moving image exhibitions, to encourage and showcase artists of the moving image, to promote the moving image as art and to offer educational outreach. The week after the festival the festival will host a traveling tour of colleges, museums and theaters across the U.S. A total of $18,000 in cash prizes will be awarded by jurors in 22 categories.

SXSW 2004 Film Festival

For 11 years, the South by Southwest Film Festival has highlighted the best in new independent film. The SXSW Film Conference will take place March 13-16, 2004, at the Austin Convention Center. The conference features four days of panels, workshops, mini-meetings, mentoring sessions and hands-on sessions. The early submission deadline is November 3, 2003 (postmark date) with a processing fee of $25 for shorts and $35 for features. The late submission deadline is December 1, 2003 with a processing fee of $30 for shorts and $40 for features. There is a $5 discount for applying online.
