The Abuja International Film Festival 2004 will hold in the beautiful capital city of Abuja from the 19th to 22nd of may 2004 in the beautiful city of abuja in nigeria. The festival shall accept entries in both film and video format(DV and Beta). The 63rd Annual George Foster Peabody Awards recognize outstanding achievement and excellence in television, radio and Internet programming. More than 1,000 entries from 30 different counties are received annually including news reports, documentaries, entertainment shows, public service programs and children's programs -- although awards are given solely on merit, without regard to specific categories. Judging is done by the 15-member Peabody Board, which includes TV critics, television practitioners, and experts in culture and fine arts from around the world.

The International Animated Film Society-Hollywood will celebrate the release for the first time ever of Disney's historic war effort productions on DVD with a screening of rare 35mm prints of Disney cartoons produced during World War II at the Alex Theatre in Glendale on Tuesday, May 11, at 8 p.m.

Arrangements are being made for a special panel of industry professionals to appear at this special screening to discuss the work and culture at Walt Disney that went into creating these films.

Sheila M. Sofian will be screening her documantary animated films at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood as part of Filmforum LA (http://www.filmforum.org/) . The event will take place on Sunday, April 18 at 7:00pm. Sheila will be there in person to discuss her films.

The American Cinematheque at the Egyptian Theatre will be presenting a special children's matinee screening of PAUL MCCARTNEY'S MUSIC AND ANIMATION COLLECTION on April 17 at 2:00 pm. This special program is the L.A. premiere of three award-winning animated short films written, produced, voiced and scored by Paul McCartney. All screenings are at the newly renovated Lloyd E. Rigler Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd between Highland and Las Palmas.

Founded in August 1961, WorldFest is the third oldest competitive International film festival in North America. It gave first honors and awards to Spielberg, George Lucas, Randall Kleiser, Ridley Scott, Ang Lee, The Coen Brothers, Robert Rodriguez and many more. It screens 50-60 new features and around 100 new shorts, in 35mm and digital video DLP projection in a large commercial theater complex. The event provides great networking as more than 450 international filmmakers attend, and the general audience exceeds 25,000 at the 10-day event.
