This two part competition awards a $1500. cash prize for the best student storyboard and animation on the theme of "How to Achieve World Peace". The storyboard winner must complete a short animation based on the storyboard under the supervision of their faculty advisor. A cash prize is awarded upon completion of the storyboard, and additional prizes awarded upon completion of the film within the one-year deadline. No entry fee required. The 2007 StoryPros Awards Contest is now accepting entries and offers over $10,000 in CASH & PRIZES plus invaluable promotion of the winners and their projects to over 3,000 entertainment professionals.

This is a genre competition with five categories:Family/Animation/TeenDramaComedyScience Fiction/Fantasy/HorrorAction/Adventure/Thriller

One Grand Prize winner, and 1st-3rd places awarded in each genre. 16 winners total and all winners receive cash and or prizes (depending on the which place).

The Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) is an annual celebration of films, events and panels presented amidst idyllic Bahamian settings, with its awards presentation and closing night bash surrounded by the pools of sharks, colorful fish and stingrays nestled among the tropical beauty of the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort, one of the festival's founding sponsors along with the Islands of The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.

The city of Barakaldo is organizing "New technologies," the seventh international contest of pictorial humor and Flash humor. Cartoonists will send a work of illustrated humor or Flash in relation with new technologies, which have a considerable impact on the day to day life (i.e. Internet, biology, space, telecommunications, medicine, etc...). The idea is to help citizens to think about the new grounds for scientific progress.

The 5th Budapest Animation Festival, formerly known as AniFest, is taking place Nov 29 - Dec 2, 2007 in Urania National Film Palace and Toldi cinema in Budapest. The 5th edition of Anilogue presents four days of animation, packed with feature premieres, sneak previews, workshops, special guests, a competition of European animated shorts, a world panorama, and more special programmes including a seven hours long animated show, concerts and cartoon exhibitions.

The eighth annual Santa Fe Film Festival (ISFFF) will feature more than 85 programs encompassing more than 230 films, shorts, and features of all genres, themes, and topics. The five-day festival has grown in scope and stature each year and is a high point of Santa Fe's fall calendar with a long list of events, activities, and social functions.

Asian Festival of 1st Films is an international festival exclusively dedicated to creating a platform for new talent showcases original content and first time film debuts in the categories of producer, director, actor, original script, cinematographer, documentary producer and director. NFDC is hosting the Film Bazaar India to help promote Indian cinema. The event will feature a business lounge and co-production market, coinciding with the International Film Festival of India. The Business Lounge will be an interactive platform for prospective buyers and sellers of film rights from India and abroad. Design Festa, started in 1994, is a freestyle International Art Event where artists from all over the world can exhibit their creative talent. Design Festa is the biggest art event in Asia. The event features a wide variety of creative work, including painting, sculpture, fashion, installations, multimedia, film screenings, live music, and performance art. Organized since 1994, the "Etiuda" Festival (since 2005 "Etiuda&Anima") is an event dedicated to the works of students from film and art schools from Europe and around the world. Each year their final graduation film projects and short studies compete for individual awards: Gold, Silver and Bronze Dinosaurs.

Besides competing for individual awards, European colleges have fought for the Special Golden Dinosaur Award, given to the best film school on the Old Continent.
