British Animation Awards 2004

The 5th Annual British Animation Awards will relocate to a new central London showcase, The Shaw Theatre, Bloomsbury. Previously it has taken place at the National Film Theatre on London's South Bank. The awards, a bi-annual celebration of the best British animation talent, will feature five new categories

42nd Ann Arbor Film Festival

The Ann Arbor Film Festival is a non-profit arts organization that has along-standing tradition of showcasing all genres of independent experimental film. Its mission is to provide a worldwide public forum for independent and experimental moving image exhibitions, to encourage and showcase artists of the moving image, to promote the moving image as art and to offer educational outreach. The week after the festival the festival will host a traveling tour of colleges, museums and theaters across the U.S. A total of $18,000 in cash prizes will be awarded by jurors in 22 categories.

American Accolades Screenwriting Competition is all about turning heads in the Hollywood community. It's not about fancy banquet dinners or trophies. The Cingular Wireless Short Film Festival

Cingular Wireless, the largest wireless carrier in the United States, is searching for film students and young customers to create 15-second films on their wireless phones. The Cingular Wireless Short Film Festival, a national initiative, is offering cash and prizes for the best film shorts produced on video phones. There are two separate categories -- one for college film students and the other for Cingular users ages 13 to 24. For the film student portion, the festival will be judged by Hollywood director Brett Ratner, a New York University film school graduate.

DH Institute of Media Arts is currently accepting submissions for our January gallery exhibit. There will be two themed categories for submitted works. The first category, an anime character in a Valentine themed setting. The second category submission is for an original game character design. Works should be submitted on 8.5"x11" workspace, either mounted on a isplay board or matted frame.

Solstice Parade T-Shirt and Poster Artwork Competition

The Annual T-Shirt and Poster Artwork competition is a juried show and the entry fee is non-refundable. This year's theme is "Art is in the Air." Depending on the number of pieces submitted, not all pieces may be shown. Submissions are accepted Friday from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm at the Solstice office - 924 Anacapa Street, Suite B1-F (in the basement). Cost per entry is $15 with a maximum of three per artist.
