Ray Harryhausen Presents: The Pit and the Pendulum animated film screens at Tri-city Comic Con

THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM animated short, a stop-motion adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's classic short story, directed by animation veteran Marc Lougee and exec produced by animation and vfx icon Ray Harryhausen, is slated to screen over the TriCity Comic Con weekend, October 11, 2008.

The 3rd Annual Tri-City Independent Fan Film Festival takes place Oct. 11, 2008 in conjunction with Tri-City Comic Con (TC3).

eDward - The Young Filmmaker's Award is the international film competition for young talents up to 30 and decided at the eDIT 11 Filmmaker's Festival. Prove your talent and creativity with a 30-second-film and win prizes up to 2.500 Euro. The competition is open to young filmmakers up to 30 born on or after January 1, 1978. Students, agency juniors and free film-creative especially are called upon worldwide to take part individually or in teams.

Beginning in September 2008, Super U and (a.k.a Tetes a claques) will be presenting quarterly animation contests. A jury, including creator Michel Beaudet will be awarding a prize for the best of the best at the end of August 2009.

The winning film in the first round will get $2,500, be featured on and have the chance for broadcast on Super Channel. Contest entries are being accepted until October 30, 2008 so check out the contest today.

More than 6,600 press attended IFA 2007, including 1,371 international journalists from 62 countries. Sales at the 2007 show totaled 2.75 billion Euros. The number of trade visitors attending the show in 2007 jumped 7.5% to 101,358.

BlueCat Screenplay Competition 2008

BlueCat Screenplay Competition offers entrants written feedback on their scripts. All screenplays entered by Dec. 1 will receive feedback by Jan. 1.
