We are now receiving entries for the 2016 AEAF Awards for VISUAL EFFECTS and ANIMATION. The AEAF Awards are in their 19th year, accepting entries from around the world in 14 categories to recognise excellence in VFX and animation created for screened work. The Awards are open to all digital content creators and motion graphics, digital video, animation and effects professionals and students. Entry is FREE of charge.

Make sure to submit your film to AFF’s Oscar®-qualifying Animated Short category! Many animated shorts that play AFF have gone on to be nominated for an Academy Award®, including The Dam Keeper in 2015, Head Over Heels in 2013 and The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore in 2012.
Founded in 1955 DOK Leipzig is the oldest documentary festival in the world. From its first edition on animated films were part of the programme which today extends into crossmedia art. This makes Leipzig unique in the international festival landscape. The artistic approach is essential for the selection of multilayered works that reflect reality in its complexity and with radical subjectivity.
The programme includes international competitions for long and short documentary and animated films as well as for animated documentary, for German documentaries and the Next Masters Competition. There are numerous special programmes like the regional focus, a rich historical retrospective, a homage to a master and many more.
The Taiwan International Graphic Design Award (TIGDA) 2015 competition has opened for entries and designers from all regions and countries are invited to participate.
The Competition is open for innovative works in two categories – Poster Design and Corporate Identity Design – through individual or group registration.
Almost 30 separate awards – medals and certificates – will be announced in November 2015 and the best works will be features in a special publication prepared by the organizer.
Each of the two main competition categories have subcategories:
Submitted entries must be original creations of the contestants completed after 30 June 2013.
The competition is organized by the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs of China in collaboration with International Council of Design (ico-D) and Japan Graphic Designers Association (JAGDA).

The Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF) is one of the largest animation festivals in the world. It usually screens around 400-450 films each year in competitive, panorama, student, curated and retrospective programs. MIAF generates a smaller touring festival called the Australian International Animation Festival (AIAF), is a submissions base for the London International Animation Festival, the New Zealand Film Festival, the Sydney Film Festival and assists in programming a number of other festivals in Australia, Taiwan, South Korea and the USA.
When you submit your film to MIAF, your film is automatically considered for each of these festivals although these other events will send you a separate and specific invitation if they wish to invite your film.
