Animation Week at Motherwell

Motherwell College will be holding an Animation Week where guest speakers from the U.K. and Europe will be participating in seminars. The event will hold hands-on sessions for the public. Companies and speakers featured will include Dave Sharp, Dave Brown, Russell Murray, Laurie McCulloch [Digital Animation], Richard Scott [Axis Animation], representatives from Codemasters, The Lost Boys [Holland], Lego, Lesley Keen (Ex Inner Workings) and Alan McFarlane (Head of Art at Steel Monkeys). The event is a celebration of Motherwell's new course of study in film craft and animation.

Zoomgo Film Fest 2000

First annual Zoomgo Film Fest 2000 is celebrating creativity, talent and achievement through the use of streaming media and the Internet. The festival will showcase works from around the world ranging from animations to shorts. There will be 100 films/animations selected and posted on the festival site where a panel of professionals from the Independent Film/Animation Industry will judge the top 10 voted films. There will be three overall cash awards: 1st place - US$5,000, 2nd place - $1,000 and 3rd place - $500. Voting will start on June 1, 2000 at zoomgo.com.

VIRTUALITY 2004

The Inspired Art Fair

Inspired Art Fair is the only U.K. annual art fair showcasing up to 70 independent undiscovered artists held at Old Truman Brewery, 91, Brick Lane, London E1,16th - 21st Nov. The launch in Oct. 2003 gave 49 international sculptors, drawers, painters, photographers and digital artists of exceptional quality the opportunity to show and sell their work to thousands of visitors and international galleries.

Django Films Recruitment Tour

In early January 2007, Paul Dutton, our Assistant Director, will conduct a whirlwind recruitment tour of Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin, Copenhagen, the Animation Workshop in Viborg (Denmark), Stockholm and Oslo. Paul will be looking for animators to work on The Illusionist, a 2D animated feature adapted by Sylvain Chomet from an original script by French comic genius, Jacques Tati. EAM Plus 2007

Cries For Peace Short Film And Photography Competition

The Cries for Peace competition invites you to enter your pictures or short film for the chance of winning an Award and recognition for your work. The competition aims to collect positive expressions of peace. Selected images collected will be showcased as part of the London Week of Peace 2008 and the winner will be chosen by a public vote August 15-September 9, 2008. The competition aims to be a positive response to the far too many unfortunate stories in the media about young people and crime, particularly violent crime leading to fatalities.
