Tribeca Film Festival 2008

The Tribeca Film Festival, co-founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, showcases premieres of studio releases and independent features, documentaries and shorts from all over the world, as well as educational panels and seminars and a family film program.

With help from some aspiring student filmmakers, audiences at this year's Tribeca Film Festival will enjoy a fresh perspective on a New York City icon: the festival logo. More than 50 students at School of Visual Arts in New York have created original 10- to 30-second animations using the official Tribeca Film Festival logo that will appear in the pre-show reel at all screenings. The students represent three separate programs at SVA: the BFA Computer Art, Animation and Special Effects Department, the MFA Computer Art Department and the BFA Film, Video and Animation Department.
