New York International Children's Film Festival 2009

NYICFF was founded in 1997 to promote intelligent, passionate, provocative cinematic works for ages 3-18 and to help define a more compelling film for kids. Each year NYICFF premieres a highly selective slate of the best animation, live action, documentary and experimental film from around the world, including groundbreaking new works by directors such as Hayao Miyazaki, Danny Boyle, Katsuhiro Otomo and Michel Ocelot. Most importantly, NYICFF is at the vanguard of a movement defining a new, more intelligent, relevant and compelling filmed entertainment for children.

Don't miss the U.S. Premiere of the new WALLACE AND GROMIT film, A MATTER OF LOAF AND DEATH, playing one time only, in the FILM & FOOD event, at Scholastic Theater, Sunday, March 1 at 3 p.m., with proceeds to benefit the festival.

Tickets are on sale at www.gkids.com or by calling 212-349-0330. The festival showcases the best new animation, live action and experimental film from around the world, with filmmaker Q&A's, hands on workshops, red-carpet premieres, panel discussions, audience voting, and the NYICFF Awards.

Opening Night is Friday, February 27, 2009 at 6 p.m. with the U.S. premiere of MIA AND THE MAGOO; Q&A with director and reception follows at the DGA Theater.
