New York International Children's Film Festival 2008

Over the past 11 years, New York International Children's Film Festival (NYICFF) has earned a reputation as one of the finest film festivals for people under 18 by programming the best new animation, live-action and experimental film from around the world. Last year, 108 films were selected from over 2,200 entries. Programs are organized by age group, with screenings available for all ages from tots to teens. Winners are chosen by audience ballot and NYICFF also presents a Special Jury Award. Since 1997, NYICFF has been at the vanguard of a movement defining a new, more intelligent, relevant and compelling type of film for children -- a challenge to the formulaic sameness of Hollywood and crass commercialism of children's television.
