To better reflect our goals and mission, Best in the SW will now be called motion. motion is a unique event, focusing on the art of animation, broadcast design, title design, vfx and motion graphics. Related content areas include game art animation, sound design, motion picture title design, motion picture trailer design and video for the Internet.
The event includes four days of informative and inspiring creative sessions. Day one starts off in Santa Fe with our exciting new "exporience planet-motion." It's a game, it's an animation festival, it's an "exporience!" "planet-motion" is your ticket to fun and prizes. Late afternoon, join us for the full-length animated feature, ROMEO & JULIET: SEALED WITH A KISS. Animator and creator Phil Nibbelink will be on hand to draw characters for the kids -- or the kids at heart. Then, treat yourself to an evening of animation at motionfest as we view the finalists in this year's competition.
Monday morning you'll board our luxury tour bus as you're transported back to Albuquerque for the remainder of your stay at the newly renovated Albuquerque Hyatt Regency downtown. When you arrive, you'll start your day at motion{u} - a full-day training with the pros in the track of your choice. That evening we kick off motion08 with our opening keynote extravaganza and the annual motionawards -- celebrating the best in animation and motion graphics.
Tuesday and Wednesday are jam-packed with keynotes, sessions and panels. Learn and be inspired by the pros in the industry, including After Effects gurus Chris and Trish Meyer, motion picture screen designer Mark Coleran, and vfx artist Alex Lindsay.
motion08 includes a number of lunches, parties and networking events, providing attendees plenty of opportunities to interact with speakers, pros, colleagues and peers.
motion08 takes place October 12-15, 2008 in Santa Fe and Albuquerque.
