The Hollywood Film Festival is comprised of 10 separate film festivals, including the Hollywood Animation Film Festival. The event was created to bridge the gap between established Hollywood and the global creative community, as well as to honor excellence in the art of filmmaking.

The Hollywood Animation Film Festival is a competitive film festival with the mandate to highlight both domestic and international animated films and to make sure that filmmakers get visibility in Hollywood's backyard. Selected animated films compete in the festival's main competition.
