Good Business is the Best Art: How to Succeed in Fine Art without Really Starving

Otis Continuing Education is hosting a panel titled, "Good Business is the Best Art: How to Succeed in Fine Art without Really Starving." Distinguished Los Angeles creators Anthony Ausgang, Coop, Amy Kim Ganter, Camille Rose Garcia, Mark Todd, and Esther Pearl Watson ignore the boundaries of high and low art, as they give into pop culture as well as take from it. Their paintings and sculptures often imply hidden narratives, and are frequently inspired by TV, advertising, cartoons and other mass media sources. And, they've also developed rewarding careers producing toys, dolls, clothing, graphic novels, books, type fonts, animations and more.

Join these celebrated artists for three hours of revealing conversation, as they present their work, divulge behind-the-scenes secrets of their art entrepreneurship and discuss artistic strategies for successful marketing and building name brand recognition. The artists will also be signing books and selling items immediately after the event.

Creative director, author and Otis Continuing Education instructor Michael Dooley will moderate the discussion

The event will run from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at www.ticketweb.com/ or by calling (866) 468-3399. For more information, visit www.otis.edu/index.php?id=85.
