The Gnomon Workshop LIVE exists to allow students and professionals from around the world to come together and share production experiences, techniques and artwork. Located at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood, California, these weekends have been tremendously inspiring for all who attend. LIVE is a rare chance to meet some highly accomplished artists who will take you inside their own personal projects and processes to help advise and advance your career in the entertainment industries.
The artists in this year's lineup have worked on HELLBOY and HELLBOY 2, THE MATRIX, THE MATRIX RELOADED and REVOLUTIONS, V FOR VENDETTA, BEOWULF, STAR WARS EPISODES 1, 2 and 3 and SPEED RACER. Confirmed guests include Erik Tiemens, Iain McCaig, George Hull, Tyruben Ellingson, William Stout, James Clyne, Habib Zargarpour, Wayne Barlowe, Marc Gabbana and Kenneth Rocafort.
Lecture topics include feature film production techniques, imaginative illustration, concept design, comic book penciling, production pipelines, painting and digital sculpting. This year's event will also be the return of the recruiting room, a great opportunity to meet supervisors and art directors in the industry: bring portfolios and questions. Past recruiters have included representatives from Nickelodeon, Blizzard, Naughty Dog, NBC Universal, ESPN, Top Cow, Insomniac, Activision, Digital Domain, Gentle Giant and Rhythm and Hues.
