Festival Stop Motion Montreal, September 15 - 17, promotes all forms of stop motion animation; from puppet animation and Claymation to object animation and pixilation.
Festival Stop Motion Montreal is the world’s first festival dedicated to showcasing films animated exclusively using stop motion techniques.
The Festival gathers professionals and independent creators alike as well as enthusiasts and fans of all ages for a truly unique cinematic experience.
Activities include:
- Discovery Program - Free family program screening to introduce young members of the public to the exciting world of stop motion animation.
- Stop Motion Hands-on Stations – Allows for hands on experimentation in several stop motion techniques, including puppet animation, claymation, toymation and pixilation.
- Meet the Filmakers – Meet and talk with the directors about their work as well as their techniques.
- Short Films Competition - Short films will compete in three different: academic, independent, and professional.
- Master Classes - Led by professionals working in the stop motion field, master classes give festival-goers an insight into the challenges faced by the artists.
- Opening night reception - Filmmakers, professionals, students, and amateurs gather to share their experiences with and passion for stop motion animation
- Saturday night party – Great opportunity to meet participants, share experiences, and exchange contacts.
