Fanime Con 2002- the Silicon Valley Japanese Animation convention

Fanime Con, located this year at the beautiful Santa Clara Convention Center, is a leading convention for fans of anime and manga (Japanese animated cartoons and comic books), and related popular culture. Guests of honor include: producer and director Hiroyuki Yamaga of Studio Gainax, Takemi Akai of Ninelives, Kunihiko Ikuhara- director of Sailor Moon and Revolutionary Girl Utena, singer/songwriter Mari Iijima, manga translation publisher Steve Bennett, anime scholar Gilles Poitras, former child star Taliesin Jaffe, and a plethora of voice-over actors.Panels and workshops cover topics ranging from web comics to costuming to cel collecting. Fanime Con presents over 200 total hours of anime screenings, including premieres from Gainax, Bandai Entertainment, and Manga Entertainment, among others.Visit our exhibit hall featuring rare anime merchandise.
