Animex

Animex The UK's brightest and best celebration of animation returns this January with presentations by leading animators AS WELL AS screenings, professional workshops and exhibitions.

Running from Tuesday 28 January to Friday 31 January 2003, Animex is organised by the University of Teesside in collaboration with Middlesbrough Council.

Tuesday 28 January - Wednesday 29 January Animex Fringe - a mix of eclectic and brilliant happenings in and around Teesside, with an exciting array of animation displayed in and around the town centre of Middlesbrough, including: Animex Screen - a special series of animation screenings held at a local cinema Animex Xtreme - a showcase of bizarre, rarely seen, off-the-wall animated films Animex Teentoons - an introduction to the joys of creating animation for young people Animex Town - a special project for community groups to create animation of their own The animation works created at Animex Teentoons and Animex Town will be screened during the festival

Animex Talk! - the industry conference hosted by the University and attended by the world's leading animators, producers and directors (see Notes for News Desks)

One of the first confirmed speakers at January's Animex Talk! is Dave Throssell, a highly respected special effects expert with nearly 20 years in the business and head of Mill TV, the television arm of Oscar winning visual effects facility The Mill.
