This annual summer residency program focuses -partially- on C. P. Cavafy’s works on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth (1863-1933).By using digital and other means, the participants will attempt to transform the light and the darkness, the shadows and the flashes of C. P. Cavafy’s poems in digital photographs, short movies, video art and animation.The C. P. Cavafy’s poems will be also recited, played in theatrical acts, performances and some open air installations.Any theoretical consideration not avoids the individual and team requirement for experiential approach of art, making Cavafy's verse: "And once more in art, I am renewed by its working", as the quintessence of this year ANIMART.Academics and artists from Greece and abroad, but primarily the young participants, are invited to contribute with their knowledge, skills and talents in a two-way relationship, where knowledge has no limits, and becomes the motive & cause for a shared creation.The ANIMART, as always, offers some classroom lessons, training courses, lectures, speeches, masterclasses and workshops.Artistic events enrich the ten days residency, associating the participants with the local community.The Monodendri village is ideal for nature activities. Vikos Gorge and many more interesting places around the Zagori area (like the traditional stone bridges, forests, lakes and churches) that are unique in the world.The participation in local folk festivals, taking place in the summer time, is also a one lifetime experience.The outcomes of the workshops will be included in an exhibition.
