The 2022 London International Animation Festival

The London International Animation Festival (LIAF 2022) - the UK's largest, most eclectic and longest-running animation festival is now accepting films for our 19th edition. LIAF proudly showcases the whole spectrum of creative animation, showing that animation is for everyone.

Founded in 2003, LIAF aims to dispel the popular misconception that animation is just cartoons for kids by screening the broadest possible range of intelligent, entertaining and provocative current films on offer from all around the world as well as retrospectives and specialised sessions from countries and animators who don't normally elicit such attention.

As ever, we will be screening towards the end of 2022 in cinemas across London and online on our streaming platform. LIAF screens around 250 films each year in competitive, student, curated and retrospective programmes as well as filmmaker masterclasses and Q&A’s, workshops, industry events and panel discussions.

Our call for entries is now open and the deadline to enter is July 31st. To be considered eligible for selection in LIAF 2022, your film should have been completed AFTER 1 January 2021. Details on our website at: www.liaf.org.uk/entries or you can enter directly at: filmfreeway.com/LondonInternationalAnimationFestival.

There are awards for the Best Film of the Festival, the best British film, the best sound design, the best music score, the best abstract film, the best music video and the best children's films. They are all judged by juries made up of people from within the animation and film industry.
