Pitching A Cartoon

I'm 24 years old, currently in college for Digital Media Productions. I have a cartoon series concept that I've fully developed, and have completed a pitch bible. The simple question is, where do I REALLY need to go to pitch a cartoon successfully? I know that I have to check the demographic and go to the right networks, but I'm not entirely sure where to go within a network to pitch the show.

Unfortunately, I cannot currently afford to travel from Indianapolis to the places I really need to go, so I'm trying to work through social media networks to put the idea in the right hands. I'm confident that the concept can stand on it's own and draw in interest, and you can actually view the pitch bible in my "Space Pirates" thread as a reference to my claims.

I need to know if pitching can conceivably be done successfully through internet correspondence, or perhaps even through Skype. I assume it isn't recommended, but can it be done successfully?

I am not in the business but from what I have heard, at some point in the process you will have to do a face to face.

They are, by my guess, seeing if you have what it take to run with their ball.

Hopefully one or two of the industry people will chime in.

Can we see your work, if not your idea then some other work you have done?

Absolutely, as I mentioned above, you can dart over to the Show and Tell forum and see the entire pitch bible in my "Space Pirates" thread. That's only one style of artwork that I do, and if you'd like to see more, you can check out my DeviantArt page.
