How big format pixel for cinema standard (2D) and what consequenses?

Is this going to be shown on a small screen, office wall or a movie theater?

Hope this also helps in making a decision

I would call that, very useful.

2K or 4K film resolution.

Examples: 2K Film resolution "full aperture 4:3 " = 2048 x 1556

4K Film ("full aperture 4:3") = 4096 x 3112

2K is pretty much standard for work that will be seen on a large screen. I would tend to use 4K selectively for more detailed scenes that need very high resolution, then downscale it to 2K to match the other scenes.

When you say "what consequences ?" what exactly do you mean ?

I'd say off the top of my head the main "consequences" of using high film resolution are that

1.) you must have a good computer with fast processor

and

2.) max it out with as much memory as you can install. 6GB or 8GB , even 16 GB of memory will help animation programs rendering 2K film projects to run much snappier and not get bogged down. (Be aware that some 32-bit programs can only access up to 4 GB of memory anyway , so in some cases it won't necessarily help to add more memory . )

3.) have an external hard drive (at least 1 TB) to store your animation project files so you don't bog down your main computer hard drive.
