Animation Mentor

Hi!

I'm an experienced 2D animator and I would like to learn 3D Animation. I'm thinking on going back full time to school.

[*]I was wondering what you thought about Animation Mentor?

[*]Compared to a University, would you say is at the same level, better, worse?

[*]Canadians, compared to Max the Mutt and Seneca, do you think it's as good, worse, the same?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Anyone? :(

animation mentor has established itself at this point. in my opinion. but you may not get into animation mentor. are there any others you have in mind

I was in the same boat as you Violeta, 2D animator wanting to learn 3D when I enrolled in Animation Mentor. I learned 2D animation at the Academy of Art in San Francisco and was a 2D animator on CN's "Fosters..." show when I started Animation Mentor. In my opinion, it's one of the best animation schools in the USA if not internationally. My friend who started the AM with me said the lessons were as good if not better than his best animation classes at Sheridan in Canada.

The lesson plans are well thought out. The cost of a class is about equal to a class semester at most art schools. They don't get too techie on the program so that can be either a good or bad thing. If you just want to animate, it's good. If you want to learn to model, rig and light. Then maybe take some tech maya classes.

Thanks for your reply!

Thanks a lot!I'm glad someone that got to study there tells me this. Sheridan is considered the best here in Toronto so if your friend told you that, it means AM must be good!

Thanks again!
