Lip Sync in Progress

Hey Everyone.

Haven't posted in a while and have a lip sync I need critique on.

Please do so when you can.

Below is a link to it.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to check it out.

Looks good to me, but I'd plan the accents on 'definitely' and 'STINKS!' differently. My suggestion would be making the eye-roll longer so it reads better. The 'STINKS!' part doesn't come across as very aggressive to me because it 'explodes' into that retreating pose. I'd make the head jerk forward violently with wide-open eyes on 'STINKS!' and then cushion back into the pose with the mouth covered.

Thanks Jabberwocky.

I'll give it a try and see what it looks like.

Thanks for the ideas as always.

Any other takers out there??

Would appreciate it. :)

Hey animationhead!

It is definitely getting to a close to done state. The one thing I'd say is that he seems to have keys that happen in very even intervals. This makes the whole thing a little less dynamic than it could be.

Try adding some pauses to break up the speed of the whole piece. He already speaks extremely fast, so having the head not be in synch with the rapid talking might make the piece a bit more interesting. Other than that, great job! :)

It's a good start animationhead. I suggest you listen to the audio a few more times and write out what he's saying phonetically with accents. Like "uOO dEFFnlee.." instead of "You definitely..." What I see is that you are animating how the words are spelled and now how he is saying them. When animators do this, the mouth tends to flash from one shape to the next. It is particularly hard with this since the actor talks so fast. But try and listen carefully, because when people talk they often drop off or blend the start and endings of words together. Those will be your in betweens to go to the key shapes that emphasize the word. Hope that makes some sense.

Also when you're done, select all the mouth keys and move them forward one to two frames. The shapes are a little late. I find it easiest to animate everything right on the sound, then move it forward at the end.

Elasta-Girl from "The Incredibles" might be a good example to look at.

Thanks you guys.

Points well taken.

You're right, Murphy is speaking so quick that it does make it a bit harder. Short n Sweet, so to speak :)

Here's a link with slight changes: Head movement, mouth keys moved one forward and accents more pronounced a bit.

Tell me what you think about those slight changes. (For those who saw and rememeber the original) For those who didn't see it, tell me what you think about THIS one.

Thanks again for looking out! :)
