Thanks for the answer, actually Ive rendered it out to BMP image files in the first instance then to AVI, I was not aware that Q T would give me best quality, can I then covert the image files to Quick Time or can I go direct to Flash with the image files?

I thought you were rendering straight to avi then flash. if your using an image sequence then avi from a video editor. you have multiple choices for rendering, you should try some of them out and see what effect it has on the video after its been converted in flash. but quicktime is a better format compared to avi if your video has to be put thru flash

Extreamly helpfull.

Luckily I saved the animation to image files otherwise I would not have had the chance to get a decent copy in Quick Time to take into flash,I had been told that AVI to flash was the best,6 months work seriously slowed down.
but thinking about it its the logical choice.
The problem with being reatively new to the post production aspects of animation is that theres plenty af advice out there, but very little of it is acurate.

I think thats going to be case regardless of the subject matter. thats were gaining experience comes in

Hello.
The results of converting AVI to FLV were predictably poor and
Im now trying with QuickTime Pro to produce a QT version and then to FLV as you suggested.
One thing though, the only way that I can judge the results of the flv conversion is to view them in VCL player or windows media player, would you say that is an acurate representation of my efforts?
Flash CS4 sadly is way off budget.

I know what the vcl player is but I never had to use it. generally flash plays the same regardless of the player. thats the main reason for using flash, no matter what browser or player you dont have to worry about about the content changing. it looks the same on every machine.

whatever you were using to make avi didnt it let you render as quicktime also

I could be way off base here, but I think you need to check your settings.
