11 Second Club March WIP

I have some spare time this month so I'm going to give the 11 Second Club a try again. I hope this time I'll be able to get to finishing the short in Maya.

Here is my rough golden poses In Flash. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tw0Vx6-bHZ0
This is the same but with out the tracebacks. The poses are clearer with this version.

I'm going to Maya this weekend, and I'll post my Maya blocking pass and a few other stages. Comments and crits always welcome.

Not that I've ever seriously competed in an 11 Seconds Club competition but truth be told, if they'd asked me to start with that voice sample I probably wouldn't have done it.
I guess there are two ways to go about this, either blow them away with some seriously subtle acting or come up with something so crazy, but still fitting, that you win for sheer originality.
I mean, your poses look good but there's only a handful - no offence, the clip provided just is that way. You might be able to sell a lot over facial expressions. If, as I assume from what you've shown here, you intend to take the subtlety road, good luck. It's gonna be a tough one.

Thanks Jabber, I'm going to need it. Whats the saying, "and I took the subtler road traveled?" ;) Yeah, I'm going to have to plow through it this weekend and see how far I can get with it.

You should give it a try Jabber. They try to vary up the audio clips between subtle and dynamic every other month.

Thanks for the input and encouragement.

I got into the early blocking in Maya and thought it was too boring. I shot some reference video and re-blocked the shot in Flash. I'm gonna start in Maya tonight.
