Hi there can I get some feed back on this please. I kind of ran out of momentum on it, thanks

Spacing:

Spacing is the number of frames it takes for something to get from point "A" top point "B." Will the hand hold 5 frames before it moves or will it move on the first frame? This will give your animation some spice to it.

Sorry, lI forgot a bit of info on spacing. Spacing isn't just the number of frames it takes for something move from "A" to "B," but it's also the distance traveled by the object. That is more what the spacing above shows. In the top one, the object moves the same distance on each frame. The bottom one the distance varies. It eases-out from the start, then eases-in at the end.

I'll probably remember something else about it, but for now I think that is a little more clear.

no momentum/inertia which would result in follow through...id consider allowing for plenty of anticipation too...allow the viewer to savor the punch line

the fastest polygon in the west!

YEEEEEHHHHAAAAA!

Most of the poses are good. You really need to work more on the timing and spacing of your animation. The spacing of the animation is just too even and boring. You also don't hold on your golden poses very long, so it's a bit hard to register whats going on. Kung Fu, when not actually fighting, is much more about the finishing pose than the actual action of the punch or kick, so make those poses really read.

ta for feed back

Do you mean the rythum is too even? so I should pick my key notes and highlight them right?

I think I get what you mean, its interesting because I was holding on the poses for longer but it just felt too slow.

This anim is for a prototype game its supposed to be all that posey stuff they do in kung fu films before they start fighting. It was fun but I dont think I did it justice and Im off the project on Monday, so I may not get time to tweak it (got to do a side kick today) If I manage to tweak it I will post it here.

Thanks for the feed back, its given me a new angle.

Yeah, things are alittle too even.

Timing:
Boring;

More interesting;

Spacing:

Yes timing is sort of the rhythm the the character will hit poses or antics. Once you nail that down, you can play with the spacing inbetween each of those poses.

Spacing is the number of frames it takes for something to get from point "A" top point "B." Will the hand hold 5 frames before it moves or will it move on the first frame? This will give your animation some spice to it.

This also doesn't mean just setting all your curves to flat tangents. Yes it will be more interesting, but will will still be boring and mushy which a whole lot of beginner 3D animation looks like. Mine included.

If the project is done, take what you've learned, move on and apply it to the next project.

will do

yeah friday turned into the usual lunch time drinking affair so I didnt get round to tweaking this one. Beer and animation dont seem to mix.

Thanks for the feed back I will post up some more of my game animation in future.

Ive just done the 11 second club for the first time, and am planning on doing the second one. The club seems to be doing well and theres a lot of good stuff there. Plus its great motivation for me, usually I get a bit stuck for ideas after work and find it hard to summon up the energy to get any work done. Its worth checking out if you havent already.

Loads of people from my office say there going to try and enter something, its just been me and the lead animator this time.
