Walk Assignment

Hey guys. I had to do a personality walk for my Animation II class and decided to have the character limping. I hope you like it! As usual all comments are crits are greatly appreciated. :D

It is nice but it is not really a limp. To me, a limp implies that the whole body is swinging, to keep the balance from a leg that does not move like it should. So the body needs to show some counter weight action. That is my two cents.

Getting into that character, the walk feels as though he/she/it has a stiff leg, but not one that's incapacitated or hurting so much it can't be moved. I think the leg needs to be really dragged and it should show that the character has no interest in it being moved too much or too far. What would it look like if the leg was really limp, meaning the leg muscles don't get strained, and if it was propelled forward by the hip only a small distance and didn't lift off the ground very high?

Thanks Wontobe and Jabberwocky! I agree with you both. I didn't do very well on this walk. I realised that I didn't push the acting enough. Like you said Jabberwocky, it doesn't feel like his stiff leg is injured at all. I should have picked part of his leg and chose for that to be the injured bit and then figured out how he'd walk as the result. Sorry guys. I really should have done a better job. What makes it worse is the assignment is due today. I'm in class putting it into the dropbox now. I feel really bad about it and wish I wasn't so slow. Then I could have posted this earlier and would have had time to impliment people's critiques. :mad:
