Let me know what u think:)

You have some really nice FX work on your reel Madman. That is your strong point. You have to work on your character animation skills more. Study traditional character animation and apply that to your animation.

character animation only???

i do have a character animation reel of character animation....the problem is that the reel from then hasn't gotten me work as much :

Believe you me, I have studied a LOT of character animation stuff.
When I bring reels, I bring both simultaneously on the same demo DVD. Between the two, i think my odds are better getting my foot in. The reel that started this post I know could be stronger on the character animation side, but what it shows that the old reel doesn't as much is the ability to utilize more current 2d programs; particularly Flash which is the popular thing these days.

Thanks for looking and being honest tho phack and ape:) I've gone down the character only reel path...and in NYC that's not exactly what they're looking for on every occasion.

The 2006 links don't work.

Yeah, you have to tailor your demo reel to what the studio does and wants to see. If they do character animation, show them your characer demo. If they want graphics and FX, show them that reel.

Oh, and I forgot, there seems to be things missing in your demo reel. The shot where the guy gets his arm ripped off by the subway, it looks like it's just keys. I could've sworn you showed that before, and it was fully animated. I remember thinking it was really nicely done.

Yeah, the 2006 links don't work. "URL not found."

I am just one man

What you saw in the subway arm rip is what it is and you're not seeing things. The keys you saw are what it is and I don't estimate that I will go back into that little diddy anytime soon.

I usually see both of your names commenting on my stuff. Can I get a link to yours so I know what you guys do?

:)

Ok, I went back and watched your MTA short again. WOW! does my memory suck. I really thought you had inbetweened that section. In that case, I think you should put the whole thing in your demo to show that you can animate and not just draw out key poses.

There is a link to my website in my signature, but my site is down at the moment and won't be back up for a while.

so many things phack!

I don't have the mental capacity to go through what seems like hundreds of logo designs alone, but they all rock!

I have one of the shittiest macs on earth, so the flash animations don't run all smooth for me as they should. Again, the volume is overwhelming and they're cute.

Thanks for sharing your input on my stuff all of this time. I'd dare say over the years, as sporatically as i post stuff, I always read your comments as honest and fair and I do thank you for it:)

because my external drive, containing the project of my demo, has conveniently crashed and won't boot again ever, I cannot at this point in time find the strength to fix my current reel. I'm going to start my first day of work at a place in NYC called DMA

I kind of know what I'm going to do, but I haven't actually done it yet, so we'll see. For the moment, I would like to focus on doing good work for these people that considered me. Maybe I'll make finding all of the files I used one at a time for my reel and fix them one at a time, but not this week.

Keep up the great work!

Congrats in getting into DMA madaman. Knock 'em dead!

I think I would concentrate more on my characters and less on the aftereffects.
