Feedback on BAFTA Animation.

Dear Friends and colleagues,

BAFTA (The British version of the Oscars) has posted the final films for their 60 second short film competition. It's an online voting competition so you can vote for your favorite regional film.

I am proud to say that I am one of five finalists from Scotland. I would appreciate it if you would take the time to watch my film and consider voting for it to win the Scottish section of the competition.

My film is called Hip Hip Hurray! It's an animated comedy about a four year old boy talking about birthday parties.

Here's the link:

I'd love to hear what you all think.

Thanks. :D

My film is causing a bit of controversy

Hi all,

My short film seems to be causing a bit of a heated argument in the UK. Click on the link above and check out the comments that people have been leaving under my film.

I am curious to know what people think about online competitions. Are they fair competitions where the best film wins or are they just a contest to see who has the most friends?

Cute short Dana. I didn't think it was amazing or anything, but I did like it and thought it was very charming. I really liked the dinosaur popping up at the end. :D

As for all the ruckus about you being an established director and winning before, I didn't see anything that suggest you couldn't enter the contest. The people complaining are just cry babies. I personally would want to enter against people who are better than I am. Thats what makes you grow and become a better film maker and animator. I mean come on, who wouldn't want to put on they're resume that they beat out Ridley Scott or PIXAR in a short film competition?!

Best of luck in the competition Dana.

Aloha,
the Ape
