Hi Animato. I would consider getting the Intuos 3 over the Graphire. The Intuos has more pressure sensitivity, and the quality of the pen and tablet is top notch compared to the Graphire. If you are working on digital backgrounds and need extra pressure sensitivity (such as thick and thin lines or paint strokes), then the Intuos is the way to go. You will pay a premium, but it will pay off in the long run.

Anyway, as long as it's a Wacom brand, you are safe. Just my two cents.

I've owned both and I prefer the Intuos 3. It's definitlely worth the extra money. I also second what's already been said - stick with Wacom, they make a very high quality product that will last you for years to come.

I'm quite pleased with my Graphire, you can see some of the results in my sketch thread. If you want to paint rather than just colour, shade and add FX, the extra features of the Intuos might indeed be something you don't want to miss. Plus, it looks nicer.

I've used both, and I much prefer the Intuos.

I've got the intuos2, and even that is enough of a difference to warrant the extra money, and that's when 2 was newer. I have to assume 3 is an even larger improvement.

thank you! now Im clear enough which one I should buy =)
