Voice acting in England

Is there anywhere in the U.K that teaches this? I've looked and i can't find anywhere.

You should be looking for an acting class, not a voice acting class. In an acting class you will be using your voice, along with the rest of your body.
This is a good thing in developing talent.

Why don't you go to BECTU? http://www.bectu.org.uk/ , It's where I found the voice actor for my film.

I checked out that web site and I did not find anything on teaching voice acting. That is an interesting sight, I am going to look for one that is here in the U.S.

sorry wontobe, I should clarify... there's a BECTU site in London where people can post notes on a board, it was by doing this that I found the voice actor that worked on my film. They sometimes have voice acting classes or information about them.
They used to have a really cool publication (don't know if it still exists) that has a listing of all of the studios and individuals that are members of the BECTU in the animation industry, now if only I could remember the name.

Archie, there is a website for voice acting http://voice123.com/ and they have a place for resources and a directory. You can try browsing their site to see if you can find coaching or training.

Rob Rackstraw is a rather well-known English voice-over actor. (http://www.thevoiceoverman.com/flash.html) You might want to try and contact him for advice. He is a friend's friend and helped me a bit when I approached him with some project-related questions.

Hi archie,

you could try your closest Amateur Dramatics group. Most groups put on classes and specific sessions that you can go along to. They are normally very cheap to in case that is an issue. I would highly recommend trying this plus you normally get a good mix of people.

Gav.

I am not sure if this should be its own thread but I got one question. So talent be tolded why they are not being used on a project or never say anything even if they ask?

If it comes down to it, see if there's a tv/radio announcing class anywhere nearby. That way you can become your own last resort. The things you learn in there mixed with anything you can discover about acting will double the threat :)
