Foster's Home cleanup style

My good friend Google has failed me... or possibly my choice of search words is bad. Either way I can't quite find any info on how the Foster's characters are cleaned up. More specifically, the pencil-like texturing on the linework. I know there's a few people who have worked/are working on the show so a quick explanation would be awesome. Or, if my search in the forum failed also and there's a previous thread that holds a treasure trove of answers I will joyously frolic around if you can link me to it.

I'll keep searching around online. If I find anything not posted here I'll link it

Thanks!

I thought that whole show was done in Flash.

Do a search in the "Show and Tell" Forum. There is a huge thread there about the show.

Ah, thanks Ape!

I have no idea how I missed that thread.
So far my answer concerning those pencil-like lines is just "illustrator" but I just skimmed the thread. I'll try and read through it all during lunch.

hey ape, i joined this forum after reading your post, im glad to see real animators post on forums

any other members here that animate professinally like you?'

also ape can i do a small email interview

I'm pretty certain there's a lot of pros runnin around here. I'm one and I just lurk so there's probably lots like me too hidin in the shadows

really what shows have you worked on, i saw your online comic pretty sweet

Odd Job Jack, And Yet I Blame Hollywood(series of shorts that aired on Zedtv), a couple direct to DVD kids education/entertainment videos, A short for Penny Arcade, a couple music videos(I forget the bands name right now), some cartoons for the Dallas Mavericks, designs and animation for 'The Exchange Student' adventure game....ummm.... I'm workin on a show now that'll air on Fox on Saturday mornings(I think the pilot airs tomorrow actually)

I think if everyone started posting lists this thread'd get pretty huge. I've only been working professionally for 3 years.

Glad ya liked the comic, I gotta get back to updating that soon

no i encourage everyone to post what they have worked on, ive only made cartoons for hobby, its what i love to do

i wish i could have a list of professional work, is it true i have to live in either NY or CA to make cartoons for tv, im over here in freezing minnesota

Fosters Answers

I heard that Foster's is done in Adobe Illustrator (this includes characters, settings, etc), and then animated in Flash, and Adobe After Effects. How they give the characters such an animated quality I have no idea.

A very talented team of animators.
