Question(Drawing)

Hello eveyone, I have some questions. Is Drawing using a tablet Computer Drawing or Hand drawing? What are the benefits and problems suffering during these type of drawings? Which is preferred more between these 2? Thank you.

It's drawing by hand, using a stylus. The two major problems most people have problems overcoming are the detachment of drawing on the tablet surface with the result appearing on the screen, and either the line quality or the mechanical sensitivity to your mark-making.

In the first case, for me personally, it's a bit like typing without looking. My settings are such that I move my "pen" and know where it's going relative to everything else, so it's not that much of a difference. As far as the sensitivity, pretty much anything I can draw on paper I can draw using a tablet. It is sensitive enough that you can compare them and they're all but identical, and certainly you can tell that it's my style and by my hand if you were familiar with my work. I've done tests to explore it though, hearing secondhand complaints, and if you are drawing out a curve it might not have the same exact bend or arc that you'd see from a natural, direct-to-paper move. A slight difference but it can be an important one. Also, I mostly use my tablet in Flash, and there's a big difference between a varying-thickness solid black vector line and a noisy erratic graphite line. I prefer drawing on paper but I don't condemn drawing into the computer for it.

I use a Wacom Cintiq. To me, i'ts a truly wonderful tool. Yes, it's very expensive, and you're drawing on glass, not paper, but it completely eliminates the disconnect between your hand and the drawn image that you have with regular tablets. Of course drawing with a mouse is like trying to draw with a brick.

Nothing is impossible!

So, It's better to draw on paper than to draw on stylus first? I really can't afford a 99$ USD stylus yet. (Why? 99 USD X 4 = Overprice) whats the difference varying-thickness solid black vector line and a noisy erratic graphite line? So, drawing on paper and computer are pretty equal?

Marksman.....you sure ask some damn questions.....

It's always best to have a clear vision, if that requires you putting something down on paper first, that's the way to work. You don't have to have a tablet to get the best results. I use a mouse. You also need to learn your software, to get the look you want. That can't be stressed enough.
