Testing Fees? Is this right?

Trying to land a job in the animation industry. Most recent offer came with a catch...Pay us a couple hundred bucks to test and see if you've got the stuff we're looking for. Company is legitimate, however I've never heard of having to pay to do a test...anyone out there able to offer any advice? Thanks.

Heh, intially, I thought you were saying this company was wanting YOU to pay THEM to take these tests--but I see that is not the case now with some additional info brought forth.
What it appears now is they are offering to compensate YOU for the time to take the test. That is standard operating procedure with most companies.

So whatever I wrote before, just disregard--this is all up and up now.

Good luck.

Correction....

I want to make a correction regarding my last post on testing fees. Apparently I had read through the details too hastily and failed to understand what i was reading. Nevertheless, thanks for the advice...:o

What was it about then?
Just curious...

Mistook that the studio wanted applicants to pay for tests to gain consideration for employment. Not the case at all, apparently. Easy mistake to make at times.

Awww man, and I had my sign all ready for the boycott and everything. :D

What I was curious about was what could have been mistaken for a testing fee...

But then I guess that's not really important... :)
